The Maritime Heritage Festival is the essence of what our charity aims to do - bringing together the historic local working boats afloat, together with the families who built and worked them, and tell their stories.

In 2023 there were 21 boats, close to the maximum of these boats remaining afloat. This year we had more boats join our flotilla.

Those that came to the event in 2024 enjoyed history in action afloat:

  • A display of beautiful wooden 20th century fishing boats afloat - unique to this coast  - and their stories
  • A spectacular flotilla when all the boats processed to the harbour mouth and back watched by many hundreds of people
  • Onshore maritime themed entertainment, we had two bands each day, food, drink, stalls, demonstrations and activities for children

In 2024 we were supported at the event by our team of volunteers, Nelson's Shantymen, Blakeney Old Wild Rovers, Harley's Food Truck, Blackshuck, Moongazer, Surfing Sobrero, Andy McBride and more.
