Special Events

Saturday 12 August 2017: Film show and maritime heritage event at Creake Abbey

A great day of local maritime heritage displays, short films and family activities - knots, crab boat quiz, making things that float, drinks and snacks. The centre piece is two (12 noon and 3pm) screenings of our film, 'Lucy Lavers return to Dunkirk 75 years on'.

This special and evocative one-hour film tells the story of how our newly restored lifeboat Lucy Lavers made the commemorative journey from Wells-next-the-Sea to Dunkirk and back in May 2015, 75 years after she joined Operation Dynamo - a must for younger generations to learn about our history, for boating enthusiasts, and naval, Dunkirk, and WW2 historians.

Proceeds from the day will kickstart the fundraising for our current project Whelker Bessie's restoration. We look forward to welcoming you. 10am - 5pm, Saturday 12th August, Creake Abbey, Creake Road, North Creake, Norfolk, NR21 9LF. Tickets here

We are recruiting volunteers to help throughout the day - contact us if you'd like to be involved!  Sign up on the Special Events rota! - contact us for Volunteer login details if you do not have any.

Saturday 19th August 2017: Burnham Market Craft Fair

We are lucky to have a presence at this well-established fair again this year. Do come and see us there - lots of merchandise as well as information about our work

We will need a team of three there all day, from early setting-up to end-of-the-day clearing up, as well as promoting our trips afloat on Lucy Lavers, and visits to the Maritime Heritage Centre in Stiffkey.  Do let us know if you would like to be involved!
