Around late afternoon on Thursday 28th May, groups of wellwishers, including her former RNLI Coxswain David Cox, were waiting onshore near Wells Harbour Mouth to welcome Lucy Lavers home after her incredible journey.

Several local craft also came out to sea to greet her and her crew as they entered Wells harbour mouth, after a long journey from Lowestoft, pushing against a Force 5 Westerly wind.

She moored at around 4.15pm.  It was a great moment for everyone involved in her trip, including the crews and the team at Rescue Wooden Boats - a huge sense of achievement to have reached this point in Lucy Lavers' new life, as well as a relief to have her safely back home.

Lucy Lavers will be moored in Wells Outer Harbour until she comes to Wells Quay for her homecoming celebration, at 6.30pm on Friday 5th June on the Quay, and then at Wells Sailing Club. Everyone is invited to join in welcoming our homecoming hero.
