Tony Jordan in service as RNLI Coxswain at Wells-next-the-Sea

Former Wells lifeboat coxswain and fisherman Tony Jordan sadly died on 19th December 2016, at the age of 85. Tony was well-known and highly regarded along the Norfolk coast, and was a stalwart supporter of Rescue Wooden Boats. During his lifeboat service, he served as a crew member on Rescue Wooden Boat's Dunkirk Little Ship and historic lifeboat, Lucy Lavers.  The Quay writes,

"Tony joined the [Wells lifeboat] crew in 1946, moving to second coxswain in 1971 and was appointed coxswain in 1986.  He retired in 1989 and subsequently served on the station branch committee until 2004.  He remained, until very recently, a familiar face at station events."  The Quay, Wells and District Community Newsletter, (Vol. 11, Issue 12), January 2017; p.9.

Tony shared his memories and knowledge by taking part in several of Rescue Wooden Boats' films, and by sharing his photo collections with us.  Click the links below to view these;
